Doesn't work at all on Dash.

The one I got doesn't stay on the dash at all! There was no suction with the suction cup and no stickiness. I used the pillow that came with the kit and still no luck. I couldn't hold my cell phone in one hand. So disappointed. Was very happy that my note 10 fits with case and plug.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Can't remember

Good tablet mount kit

Bought this kit to mount an 8 inch tablet in the car. Works great but can bounce a bit when driving over bumpy sections of road. I tried using the dashboard software on a tablet and it was too shaky to see when the car wasn't parked. But I can't fault him for doing well, not working with my tablet and not moving on a bumpy road. Holds tight, just wobbles a lot.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

Neat design with major flaws - doesn't work on BMW 325

The sticky suction cup doesn't stick to the dashboard of my 2001 BMW 325i and the supplied adhesive pad comes off after a few days. The base bracket holds the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 fairly well, but if you need to keep your hand low, the ball joint makes it difficult to get the right angle. When I flipped it over to mount it on the windshield, I couldn't adjust it to keep the tablet at a decent viewing angle. Overall the build is solid and unless you have a really textured dashboard it can workโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Almost never

Holds a 7 inch tablet firmly off-road

This Arkon SM678 has a slightly larger mounting base with more contact area than the Arkon SM679, making it slightly better suited for heavy equipment on rough roads . We use ours with a 7 inch tablet that we use with an OBD2 app and a bluetooth OBD2 reader for additional engine sensors. We do a lot of bumpy forest trails as well as many 3-8 hour freeway drives and only had a suction cup once after sitting with a tablet in the extreme heat over the weekend. This was after a few months ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Grip Ultra is based on a spring mechanism instead of a locking mechanism. Another big change is the introduction of a sticky-backed suction cup that works on any windshield or dashboard surface (even textured ones). This handle is based on a spring-loaded mechanism, one side of which extends when pulled. This mechanism actually allows for a very comfortable one-handed operation, which is very important for me since I use Note 2. It also comes with 2 sets of feet (with an inner soft foamโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not the best
