Excellent value for money router with passive cooling

Highly configurable and reliable SOHO router with advanced firewall, VPN, dynamic routing protocols, good performance and many other features at a reasonable price. This particular model is passively cooled, making it indispensable in silent installations. Perhaps the best router in terms of value for money on the market.

Poor performance and support.

I had high hopes for this router but ended up returning it for a refund. Because. The maximum download speed fluctuated around 10 Mbps or less on a 20 Mbps connection even when using 2 WAN links. I've been working with it for 2 weeks, constantly trying to find a working configuration, but to no avail. Mikrotik support was unable to provide a solution ie after several email interactions had to be prevented from trying to blame "everyone else" for this. (When I reconnected my previous less…

Required for 1Gbps internet

Great router for a medium sized home network. Excellent performance, I've compared it to home range TP-Link, Cisco and Linksys routers and in terms of features and especially performance there is simply no comparison. Worth the extra money if you have a 1Gbps internet connection. However, if your connection is 200-300 Mbps, you can also save some money and go with Cisco or Linksys.

Pros
  • Long range
Cons
  • Annoying

ideal for combining WAN connections with Comcast cable

Relatively easy migration with Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Pro despite different interface. WAN link aggregation works with an Arris SB8200 cable modem consuming 1.2 Gb/s from Xfinity. The LAN SFP+ 10G port is sufficient. The quick start guide is a joke. Most of the incorrect documentation is that 192.168.88.1 is factory configured for the Combo1 port, not the Ether1 port. Knowing this, it is possible to configure this router with just a web browser - without the PC software Winbox, which every other…
