The best router for your money is Mikrotik

Without a doubt, Mikrotik is the best router for your money. Before you jump, listen to the advice of others. If you buy this router and know almost nothing about networks, then most likely you will not be able to use it. If you're willing to put in the time and read (and read and read more), you can learn to do things with this router that won't make routers ten times more expensive.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Zero

It works and it's fast!

I'm a pretty serious consumer when it comes to gear. In my day-to-day work, I work with top-of-the-line equipment and am a customer of consumer-level equipment. I recently brought back Edge-Router-Lite3 because it was dropping packets for a few seconds every 10 minutes. I use smokers and other network monitoring tools so I know exactly when something isn't working properly. The web interface on this thing is amazing. This makes Cisco ASDM look like something from the late 80's. I don't have…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Almost never

Reliable Small Business Router

A great cost effective product that has drastically reduced network latency for our small business. One star deducted for the complexity of the setup, but it's aimed at the small business market. I suspect the people building it are probably better trained and equipped than me. Overall, though, it's mostly plug-and-play. The price was better than most comparable solutions I've seen.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • May damage

Highly configurable switch, router and wireless device

MikroTik products are not for the faint of heart or those new to the internet. The RouterOS operating system lets you do things you can't do with a standard home router. It supports IPv6 tunneling, VPN tunnels, VLAN tagging, SNMP monitoring, routing protocols like OSPF and BGP. If you're looking for a device that can do it all, it's worth checking out. In the tests I ran, this device forwards full line rate, full duplex gigabit port packets between ports at Layer 2. Throughput drops…

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Great device! Nothing for beginners, but really a great device.

Just installed this router a few days ago and so far I love it. As other reviewers have said, this device is NOT for beginners. But as long as you know what you're doing, it's a great device. It took me a few hours to learn how it works from the online documentation and then I started working on the configuration to port the Cisco rv320 and TP-Link switches to it. After a couple of hours (yes I have a big setup) everything was ready and believe me after replacing the cables I didn't have to…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Great price

this switch is great. It's running my DHCP

For the price this switch is great. It runs my DHCP, DNS, NAT/Internet, IPSEC/VPN server and also provides gigabit data transfer speeds for my NAS and VMware cluster. Tier 2 performance is excellent, I can easily pull 950Mbps from my NAS. This is a very versatile switch; a craftsman's dream. It's also very stable, I haven't had to restart it except to install a new firmware. Now for the cons. My main complaint is the underpowered processor. My first test was to copy a file from my Mac to my NAS

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Networking skills are required to use this product

I came across Mikrotik products while looking for a new router. The company was new to me and I was intrigued. I was drawn to the CRS125-24G-1S2HnD-IN's performance, especially when compared to other retail-oriented routers in the same price range or higher. Mikrotik offers a flexible, high performance, reliable 2GHz router/firewall/managed switch/access point with 24 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and fiber optic SFP input that, if purchased all in combination or separately in other offerings, at

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Great router for computers and accessories

Ordered for my new home. Only use the wireless network as a wireless bridge to my old router, so I didn't have to run any cables. Router features and speed work great. Wireless allows me to do what I need to do. Use the Meraki hotspot as a wireless network for your devices. Keep in mind that setting it up can be tricky if you've never used it before. Search the web for helpful articles on configuring MikroTik devices.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

Almost everything I expected.

This is a great product with all the features but you get what you pay for. I have the switching fabric of it with a maximum of 2 devices at a speed of 120 Mbit/s. My old router plus switch in the same test was 170x but had more cores and a faster processor plus was a Cisco switch. On the plus side, it uses a lot less power than my old setup. My old one was about 300+ watts, that's only 19. I gave it 1 star for the lower wattage. Incidentally, mine was constantly disconnected from the mains out

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • crumpled packaging
