Review on 🔀 Mikrotik CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD-IN: Fully Manageable Cloud Router Gigabit Switch with Layer 3 Functionality, 24 Port Gigabit Ethernet, and 1000mW Wireless by Mike Steeg

MikroTik products are not for the faint of heart or those new to the internet. The RouterOS operating system lets you do things you can't do with a standard home router. It supports IPv6 tunneling, VPN tunnels, VLAN tagging, SNMP monitoring, routing protocols like OSPF and BGP. If you're looking for a device that can do it all, it's worth checking out. In the tests I ran, this device forwards full line rate, full duplex gigabit port packets between ports at Layer 2. Throughput drops significantly when routing between subnets. While this isn't a big deal, it's something to keep in mind as you set up your network. It's really nice to be able to have VPN, firewall filtering, WiFi and gigabit in one device for less than $200.
