Washer tab sheared off

I should have listened to all the other reviews about the tab on the lock washer shearing off. Everything went fine on the driver's side and then I tightened the lock nut on the passenger's side and it cut off the tongue. Got a warm kit and put it on to 200 ft lbs and it was great. Leave with a warning or Dana won't skimp. The washer on the left is the one that was cut off.

Buy 2 sets, you will need them.

Very bad quality. The tab on the lock ring shears VERY easily, if it doesn't shear when tightening the outer nut, this will happen if you ever need to remove the outer nut. I used 3 of these kits on my 1996 f150 when I switched from automatic to manual hubs. The snap ring is mild steel with a short rib. Whether you buy the Mile Marker of Warn kit or not, the locking ring remains the same. The design MUST change!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Absolutely useless.

This will teach me how to try and save a few bucks fixing an old truck. After tightening the first nut and installing the lock washer (no problems so far) and trying to tighten the lock nut, it all went downhill quickly. The soft metal of the lockwasher lug crumpled and twisted around the spindle threads, obliterating much of it. Sent the spindle to the machine shop for an overhaul. Bought Spicer replacement parts and everything came back as expected. Mile Marker has no place in my life.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived
