Great for oversized lumber

Made some raised 2x4 lumber beds with this tool. The thicker and stronger bolts for this jig seem to add strength to the structure and I think it will last longer. A very good addition to the MilesCraft PocketJig line.

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

If you can't afford a Kreg light, this product is for you.

What I like about this product is the price compared to similar products. What I didn't like was that it felt like it was cheaply made and looking inside the two steel bushings I could see that one bust was starting to crack and the other was already peeling off.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Milescraft 1326 matches power tool parts and accessories

Was glad to find it as an alternative to the Kreg HD which I felt was overpriced. Used it with a regular Kreg clip. It's not entirely clear why the drill stop is adjustable as it's only a 2 hole mount, but it fits fine. The 1/4 hex on the drill bit is a nice touch. Includes 6" Torx bit. Ironically, the Kreg HD bolts I bought with them because I needed a PT compatible bolt are a #3 square drive. Comes with a case that allows room for loose bolts. wouldn't work as well with regular 3/8" pocket…

Pros
  • Great for small homes

  • Compatibility

Requires some practice.

I liked that it works well on 2x4 and even 4x4 wood. My KRAG 700 Series Pocket Hole Gauge could not handle the thickness of the studs I had to install. This jig kit worked like a charm. It would be helpful if you could determine how far from the end of the bolt you need to clamp the jig. You want the tip of the drill bit to come out of the wood closer to its center. I use a welder clamp to hold the jig. The only problem I found was that the depth collar had a tendency to come loose. The shank…

Drill bit doesn't feel sharp

Right out of the box I made a test sample out of pressure treated Southern Yellow Pine 2x4. It felt like drilling into hardwood. My project (see photo) was to attach cedar bottom rails to the railing posts on my deck. I assumed cedar would be much easier to drill; However, drilling into pockets required considerable force on the drill bit, which was turned at top speed with Ryobi's new 18V cordless drill/driver with 1/2" chuck. The drill did not give shavings, but rather something like sawdust…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Low maintenance
