What I need for computers and accessories

This was just what I needed to set up the Sierra Wireless mc7455 for use with our custom home internet modem. It worked fine. I had a small problem with the suggested app running on my Windows computer, but I'm not sure if it's hardware related.

He worked for almost a year until he died.

Unfortunately arranged like most imported e-waste. It worked as advertised for 2 weeks without a year and then failed. The indicator does not light up, the mpcie card is not receiving power (but works fine with other adapters). How about a replacement delivery?

Poor soldering of the USB port

Be very careful with the USB port. Mine came bent and worked intermittently. It's no good leaving the modem plugged in, because the mc7455 Mini PCI-E card used here works about 20 percent of the time and only if you hold it so that the USB cable is in the right place. Sounds like a bad USB port or soldering. Always be wary of Chinese build quality.

Beware of the unreliable included USB cable

The case is decently well designed and the quality of the case is satisfactory. Strange markings but you can see it in the photo. However, due to a defect in the supplied USB cable, I spent about 6 hours using it with the Sierra Wireless MC7455 LTE module. The cable does not provide enough power for the modem to function properly. Unfortunately, the cable SHOULD power up the modem and initialize the USB connection, but after that the behavior was completely unpredictable. Simply swapping out…

The same modem with the same SIM card and antenna works fine with another USB to mini PCI adapter I dug up.

Does not fully work with Sierra Wireless MC8777V modem. It somehow recognizes the modem but can't properly communicate with it. The same modem with the same SIM card and antenna communicates perfectly with another USB to mini PCI adapter I dug up from someone else. Works if you know what it is - REQUIRES WWLAN mini-PCI-e + SIM with an active account to work. SIM cards with adapters are problematic.

works as intended. However, a corresponding WWLAN card is required. WWLAN cards are usually designed to be built into a laptop (sometimes a mobile router). If you don't know what a WWLAN card is, this won't work for you. The WWLAN card usually provides the laptop with 3G or 4G mobile internet - you still need to insert the SIM card into the slot of the laptop.
