When checking or replacing an O2 Sensor, visually inspect the sensor body to determine if it has been contaminated by a faulty part or substance upstream, and correct the fault before replacing the sensor. An OBD Scan Tool will usually identify Oxygen (O2) Sensors by the Bank Number (B1 = Bank 1; B2 = Bank 2) and Sensor Number (S1 = Sensor 1; S2 = Sensor 2, etc.). Bank 1 is not on the same side of the engine for every vehicle. Bank 2 refers to the bank opposite Bank 1. Sensor 1 refers to the sensor before the catalytic converter. Other Terms: Upstream Sensor, Pre-Cat Sensor. Sensor 2+ typically refers to the sensor(s) after the catalytic converter. Other Terms: Downstream Sensor, Post-Cat Sensor.

Will not work 2004 Civic

Closest to exhaust will not work but plugged in, the one attached to the lower cat has the wrong clip. So if you want to rewire it might take a while: 2004 Civic, Backwaters only

One was short. Now I have to do it again.

One was too short, you could install it. Luckily I didn't cut the original cable and was able to plug it back in. I submitted a short film and received Revain credit for the full prize. But now I have to go through this process again. I think I'll go to a different parts store from now on.

didn't work in oxygen

I installed these O2 sensors in my 2002 Acura MDX but they didn't solve the problem. After installing the sensors and turning off the check engine light, the check engine light came on again. I had to buy other O2 sensors that were more expensive and put them in to fix the problem. I thought it would be a good and inexpensive way to fix my car but instead they were just a waste of my time and money.

Pros
  • looking forward to it
Cons
  • hard to tell

Replace my old one with this one. Upstream and downstream sensors are included in this package, so that's a nice touch! June 2022 Post-Emissions Update **Update. The sensor that was supposed to replace my manifold upflow sensor had the wrong connector, forcing me to buy another one at my auto parts store. Disappointing as the downflow sensor works great! Unfortunately, it would be great if some kind of adapter was included. I was told that trying to cut and splice the wires would break the…
