They look good and suit my needs perfectly. My roommate keeps stealing my mugs for coffee on the way to work and she said my mugs are the only thing that fits in her cup holder so I bought her these and they have lids! comes out of the box but I'm sure this smell will dissipate over time. The lids are easy to open and close with a twist. In multicolored packaging, pink is actually a little more purple, like lavender.

I really like ceramic mugs. There are a few lids that don't quite fit, but I think I can fix that. Cups keep the temperature of the liquid for a long time. Drinking a drink with the lid on is fine, but I take the lid off to drink. The only reason I don't close the lid is to keep flies and other insects out of the coffee. I like big coffee mugs so I don't have to walk back and forth to refill them, but because of my facial hair I don't like wide mouth mugs. They look almost comical - like a stretched version of a regular mug. But the colors are cheerful, the neck is small and the capacity is large. At home we always drank travel mugs instead of regular coffee mugs because we love big cups of coffee. These red mugs are the perfect addition to our kitchen as the color matches my red Pioneer Woman utensils. The cups fit under the Keurig with tray, which is still handy.
