Description of Mityvac MITMVA670 Power Steering Adapter

The folllowing adapters are included: MVA662 Ford Power Steering Adapter; MVA661 GM Power Steering Adapter; MVA660 Universal Power Steering Adapter. Featuring a robust design and construction, all three adapters include an inline, barbed connection for a 1⁄4 in. internal diameter hose. These adapters form an airtight seal in the neck of a vehicle’s power steering pump allowing for air evacuation. Designed to function with Mityvac hand pump models MV8000 and MV8500 as well as most other brands of hand-vacuum pumps. The MVA665 is available separately and can be interchanged with the inline connector on MVA661 and MVA662 for applications with limited overhead access.

Many sizes fit most

Just what I need for my vintage Ford Taurus. The fact that I have multiple sizes gives me the peace of mind that I can match any other model should the need arise.

really helps. in Power Steering Tools

I'm glad I went this route. Vacuum pumping really takes all the stress out of servicing domestic car rack and pinion gears. I definitely recommend this product.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost never

A good tool to use with a vacuum pump for power steering bleed work

Used to bleed the Chevrolet Trailblazer 05 power steering. Tip: It may be helpful to put some silicone grease on the nipples to make the rubber hoses easier to connect and disconnect. If you pull the hoses dry they are really hard to remove.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • The list will go on.

K1500 trucks do not fit or seal

Product looks good. Also a quality product. My rating of 3 is due to it not working on my power steering pump reservoir. None of them will hold a vacuum. The black cone is the one I pressed and held by hand. You need to use a lot of arm strength to make this work. The car was a 1989 GMC K1500. With all the vitamins.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Compatibility

It works as it should.

I've had problems with air in the system on an Impala 08. I've used this and the air was effectively removed. Simply install the appropriate cap on your vehicle's pump. Apply a vacuum and the vacuum will hold the lid. I applied 25 inches of vacuum and listened with a scope and I could hear the bubbles. I kept applying the vacuum until it stabilized at 25. The key is to keep the vacuum constant and give it time. If the vacuum drops, it's because it's removing air. Went like clockwork.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not working update

The gasket is hard so I tried heating it with the car heater, it was a little softer but didn't seal on my 08 Silverado or my 07 Cadillac, asked a mechanic friend to come on come in and try. No fun. I would have expected a better design from Mityvac. The fix still doesn't work with Mityvac hand vacuum pumps that we tried 3, but it does work with "Motive Products 1702 Power Extractor" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EVANLRS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00 ?ie =UTF8&psc=1 There is a…
