good pedals for parts and components

I have been using toe clip pedals for 45 years and they are good. Why not without a clip? I had two clipless bikes and often fell at low speeds because I didn't get my feet off the pedals in time. I broke my arm last time. Never again.

Classic looks but needs lubrication

Works well. Remember these are old style pedals that have loose ball bearings. I replaced the sealed stock pedals with these simply because they have plenty of surface area without being too bulky and have a nice classic style. As others have said, you have to open them up and oil them. I found a video on YouTube and it wasn't too difficult.

Not perfect but good price

Similar to the pedals most riders had until the early 80's before contactless pedals became popular. One star off because the bearings were very rough when I turned the pedals. For this review, I went to the bike and pedaled by hand. They feel better than I expected. Of course, that's not what I feel when driving. The pedals have a well-made feel - as long as the bearings last, they should perform well for years.

There is practically no factory lubrication!

Had to add grease and found it difficult to hold the adjusting nut to tighten the lock nut. If you don't get it right it will tighten and lock up on its own, which has happened a few times. This makes pedaling aggravated when the pedal isn't turning, good thing I was only a few blocks away instead of miles. I can't understand why the factory isn't lubricating the damn thing properly. Anyway, I've had mks pedals before and they last for years, that's why I still buy them, only the fat annoys me.

Great pedals. This is my second ISS set.

Excellent pedals. This is my second MKS kit that I have bought for another bike. I would rate the pedals 5 stars except: 1. The pedals are used in Portland, Oregon and are exposed to heavy rain and road sand. The amount of lubricant used is negligible. The pedals have been disassembled, cleaned and refilled with high quality grease and bearings adjusted.2. One of the pedals (right side), races were tightened on arrival. This pedal was also disassembled, cleaned, repackaged and adjusted. After a

These pedals need love. before you use them. Fat love that is.

This is the second set of MKS pedals that I have purchased. Thanks for the very fast delivery. Both sets of these petals had traces of fat. However, this is nowhere near the amount of lube needed. Even if you weigh less than twenty kilos. These are new in plastic wrap, the shafts/pedal bearings feel dry. If you install them in a rusty garden, you're selling Huffy. Most likely (at least you have a pair of shiny new pedals). I got my last set of MKS pedals as a gift from a 420 Trek I built for aโ€ฆ
