🚿 Moen 1920 Chrome Shower Cover Plate: Easy 3-Handle to 2-Handle Remodeling Update Review

This is a quality trim. Note, however, that your faucet water lines should not protrude more than 6" from the utility fittings or your panel screws. The brackets meet the lines and require a lot more work or a 3/4" sloped panel to keep them out of the plumbing!

From some photos (2/21) it seems that the relative screws are supplied. Despite the high price of the polished brass plate, the screws are not included! This is a major inconvenience and needs to be addressed. Maybe the silver chrome plate comes with screws, I don't know. But my polished brass plate didn't come with screws. Great difficulties.

Covers holes perfectly, it's real metal so a plus. Note that at first glance you may not know which side is up and which is down, or it doesn't matter. The one with a small hole in the bottom center edge is the bottom. I think it's for draining water. I only noticed this after installing everything and trying to minten.

It has different screw sizes than the shower valve. Once you use the "cover" you will need longer shower valve screws. The cover screws are quite long but not the same size, so you'll have to go to the hardware store again to look for custom-sized screws. If the bolts were the same diameter, they could easily be swapped out. Big failure FFFFF, any mind with a pan could come up with a better script!

Great visual design. I like how it looks. Yes, he looks really great. It's made of metal with a beautiful finish. It comes with hardware and has a 5 inch center hole. This will add 3/4" to the height of the finished wall, so make sure you have clearance in the back and you can adjust the valve by moving 2x4. This is what I had to do to allow the lever/trim to use the stem threads and could achieve fix everything.

Moen website says it's brass. Moen costs about $30 more and there will likely be additional shipping costs. My plate is metal and the magnet won't stick. The chrome finish is very good and no sharp edges. The sales packaging also looks real. All parts are included. I want it to have foam inside as a water barrier. I'm still in the process of completing my installation, but I wanted to show you what you see installed right away. It's very pretty and does what it's supposed to. I had to purchase a 2" handle extension kit from Moen as my shower valve is deeper into the wall and this plate and mounting plate are a bit thicker to allow the handle to fit through with the original part. The 1920 slab is perfect if you need plumbing but don't want them ruining your bathroom tile with a giant hole

I called Moen before buying the parts from Amozon, where they were cheaper and available earlier than local stores, to make sure all the parts were compatible. This is a good heavy record with good workmanship. This allowed me to replace my old dual handle valve with a single control valve in the wall with front access only. However, I had some problems. I used a Moen M-PACT pressure balancing valve which is very broad due to the pressure/temperature control capabilities.
