I've had several of these on my truck for 20 years.

I have had a number of these on my truck for the past 20 years. When I replaced them last summer, they didn't die, but of course continued to work very weakly. So of course I used the new Monroe Gas Magnums. They still had the original part number.

Does the job best in spares

Put them on a 1985 c20 with a Tommy lifter in the rear. Noticeable improvement. Easy installation and good value for money.

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

1976 GMC C25 best in shocks, struts and suspension

Purchased to replace worn ranchos on the back of my flatbed chassis. Was skeptical but the price was too good to pass up. These dampers are much better than expected and have reduced body roll to near zero. The rebound is nice, even on a bed that weighs half a ton. I give 4 stars only because the coating can be easily damaged even with a fingernail.

Pros
  • Bore 1-3/8": Working pressure is lower than standard 1" bore units
Cons
  • Repair
