Budget Shocks

They replaced the factory originals with a 1995 Ford Ranger that was completely shot up. I've been looking for affordable replacements to safely ride my Bitter and they've worked great.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • too dumb

Those are pretty good shocks.

I installed these on my '97 Ranger which still had the original front shock absorbers. The front end bounced for days. Removed the old ones, put these on and the ride is a lot smoother, but they're still a little springy. Although it is likely that some worn out springs will solve this problem.

Pros
  • Special
Cons
  • mix up

Fast delivery and excellent customer service

Unfortunately I didn't have time to fit the shock absorbers, the day before the shock absorbers arrived my transmission failed. However, they arrived very quickly and the seller very quickly approved my return when it was not necessary. Although I can't rate the product on my own as I haven't used it, the seller was very helpful and provided excellent customer service.

Nice shocks in Shocks, Struts and Suspension

I installed these shocks on my 1994 Ford Explorer. Installation was easy and straightforward. Ride and handling have improved significantly. The only reason I didn't give that five stars is because the sticker is cheap paper and as soon as it gets wet it starts falling apart and looks awful. Either remove them first or install them using the stickers inside. They could have used a better decal but overall I am very satisfied.

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Seems to be working fine. During installation I noticed a few things.

Seems to work well. I found a few things installing them on a 1996 Ford Ranger. The rubber bushings on the truck look pressed in and I just left them on as the rubber seemed fine. The OEM shocks on the truck had a big nice nut on top that you could grab with a wrench to remove the top nut on the stem. Monroe shocks have a tiny but useless nut that cannot be tightened with a regular wrench. I think you should use a strap wrench, but I had a bike tool that was thin enough to get on the nut. The…

Ride well but be careful when mounting

The shock absorbers offer a very good ride but be careful when mounting the front. I cut off the left front shock absorber when I removed the old one. I sprayed it with PB Blaster but it still cut off. The other side will be different, right. Another PB blaster and heat the bolt with a flashlight. You start spinning it and it goes off like butter and then the other one goes off too. No worries, just drill a hole in an existing stud and thread in to insert a bolt to hold the shock in place. Be…
