Might be better than OEM units

I have a set of these units on my 2005 F150 4X4. I wanted to restore the factory ride, especially when towing my boat. These, along with the matching quick struts at the front, really soak up the bumpy road. Handling is much better as the tires remain planted. An additional advantage is the reduction of driving noise.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • It's fine

A renovation that made me really happy.

Installed these on my 07 F150 bolt. It took me longer to find the right wrenches than swapping out those 15mm bolts and 18mm nuts. Nothing is recorded. nothing rusted. no additional hardware to lose or expensive OEM screws to replace. nothing deformed. No jack required. 25 minutes from opening the box to turning and exiting. Handling improved immediately.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Minor Repairability

Excellent mid-range shock absorbers

Very good shock absorber at a reasonable price. Monroe has always made a decent product and is an intermediate level craftsman. These were very easy to screw in. The entire job took 10 minutes (rear shock absorbers only) and was done right with the truck parked without having to jack it up or remove the tires. Sure, you can buy super shocks for big bucks, but I would never buy anything less than that for a rig that I would keep and ride myself.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Improved drivability in shocks, struts and suspension

Color supplied was black. Put them in my 2007 F150. Very easy to install if you have a creeper. You don't have to jack up the truck. I believe the bolt torque spec is 66 ftlbs. They come with a plastic strap to keep them compressed. Loosen the top bolt, thread the bottom end of the shock onto the bottom bracket and cut the tape. It slides out slowly so you won't have any trouble getting the bottom screw in. Use blue screw lock. Took me 30 minutes including cleaning. Now the truck drives better.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some cons
