Goes well with Monroe 58523 shocks on Chevy S-10

Goes well with Monroe 58523 shocks (rear) on my 2002 S-10 double cab. Good hard ride but not hard. the way a light truck should drive. I recommend jacking up your truck when replacing old shock absorbers. Makes work a lot easier.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad

Will not fit 1993 Chevrolet Blazer V8

This product does not fit my full size 1993 Chevrolet Blazer 2dr V8. The top of the shock that the bolt goes through to hold the shock in place does not have the correct "bolt bushing/bushing" to hold the shock securely. Let's Party hard! MUCH! The shock itself works well and is the right height, it just has the wrong hardware.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Restored truck specs to my 1995

I'm picking 4 launches because they're pretty solid. Otherwise it's great. I also put a Reflex Monotube in the back of this car and it really helped lean into corners on my 1995 Chevy Blazer. I would say that almost immediately after replacing the shock absorbers I wanted to change all the ball joints and silent blocks of the levers.

Pros
  • Excellent overall specs
Cons
  • Doubtful

Monroe shocks are hard to argue with.

Monroe shocks are hard to argue with. because they always improve the driving performance compared to the factory standard. The only thing I missed a bit was the install strap so I didn't have to track the expansion when reinstalling. although it's a fun game in itself :) All in all, spend the extra money, enjoy the improved handling and make sure you hit another 100,000 miles.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Hardly ever

Leak/Explosion after 3 years of very light running

Waited for the test and initially they seemed good, strengthened the truck well, drove well but after only 3 years these shock absorbers disappeared. Next time I'll use Delco. In fact, the only "heavy load" these shocks saw was towing a trailer that might not weigh more than 3,000 pounds 400 miles away on a flat freeway from my old house to my new one. Don't go on those Monroes.

Pros
  • There's something there
Cons
  • Minor problems

I am happy. Price was good

Installed this 911514 on the front of a 1995 Chev Blazer, installed 58523 on the back as I tow boats with a Blazer. These shocks replaced the original 155,000-mile shocks with a slick ZW7 suspension. I chose these 4 shocks based on advice from the Monroe website. Wow what a difference. My friend immediately noticed the difference as she drove on the passenger side. The ride is taut in the rear but not harsh at all. I am happy. The price was good, the 2 day premiere was great. Tip: Manually…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model
