Description of Enhance Ride Comfort and Control with Monroe Shocks & Struts Max-Air MA759 Air Shock Absorber

MAINTAIN RIDE HEIGHT UNDER LOAD -- Air chamber can be inflated or deflated up to 150 PSI to maintain level height with additional weight up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity is limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner's manual). EASY TO ADJUST -- Special air fitting resists air leakage and ties into factory system (where applicable) or manually inflates with an air compressor; pair with Monroe air shock accessory and shock air hose AK kits (varies by application). EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING -- Full-displaced valving on compression and extension cycles for a smooth ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Hardened and precision ground piston rod for consistent performance, sintered iron piston for enhanced durability and longer service life and lubricated air sleeve reduces friction for smooth operation. CONSISTENT RIDE -- OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and help reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.

Good shock absorbers to restore proper altitude on landing.

I used this to restore the correct rear height on a 1996 Chevy S10 pickup truck. For stability reasons, it is best NOT to use the included "T" that combines the left and right shock absorber air lines. Instead, order the AK64 Dual Air Line Kit, which installs two separate air pressure systems, preventing air exchange between the shock absorbers. Thus, the shock absorbers help resist swaying and tipping of the car.

Monroe Air Shock Absorber on Chevy Extreme

Installed on a 2000 Chevy Extreme to increase clutch clearance. This added 4.5 inches at 120psi. over 5.5 inches. The only issue was access to the upper outer bolts due to the increased diameter of the air shocks during installation. I was able to complete the process using a swivel mount and a 1/4" manual ratchet. The kit came complete and took about an hour to install.

They work well on shock absorbers

Installed them on a Blazer 98. First, the air intakes on the shocks point directly at the frame with about an inch or less of clearance. With the air lines included, this gives a very tight bend for her. Wouldn't be surprised if a big hit caused an air intake or line to rupture, losing all pressure. Doesn't sound like much fun driving at high speed with a trailer. They also claim to be able to carry loads up to 1200 pounds. My camper has a tongue weight of about 300 pounds and I can fit 100-150

'00 S10 Xtreme (Low)

I'm feeling a slight vibration in the rear of my '00 low s10 Xtreme after installing these shocks. I can now tow a sporty bike with just a little air, so I find the vibration useful every day. I've ridden bikes with these shocks in the rear, my "truck" is 3 inches tall all around so they help balance it out when loaded. I placed the inflation valve in the bed (protected by the comforter) next to the tail light for easy access to the gas station air pumps. They aren't perfectly attached, they…

It's like being back in high school.

I may change my estimate over time, but I've decided to post my first impression now. I was hesitant to buy air shocks for a small 94 S10 pickup I bought to commute to and from work. I never liked the idea of using them to increase a car's payload because they add stress to the shock absorbers, not the suspension components that are designed to carry cargo. In this case I have a truck with old tired leaf springs that were causing the back of the truck to sag and I was just about to straighten…
