Monroe Max-Air MA833 Shock Absorber for Enhanced Performance Review

Total nonsense! The first set was defective. When driving and driving over bumps, there was an unpleasant knock in one of the power units. Sent them back for a new set. A replacement kit installed but they are not holding air. All O-rings and hoses have been replaced. Still in flow. Can't breathe!

Bought for my 2008 Acadia. I originally used the air lift system on my previous car (06 Freestar) after buying a caravan. They were $25 cheaper and I decided to give it a try. This piece with a bit of air completely levels our 2012 Buick Enclave with the electric scooter lift. After a few years, conventional shock absorbers wear out due to the extra weight. They went in easily, I just wish they had more cushioning for this application. My traverse still bounces a bit even with 50psi of pressure in them. More pressure reduces bouncing but raises the rear too high, now the headlights need adjusting. I was able to route the air ducts through the floor by drilling small holes in a plastic grommet under the trunk floor and then mounting the inflation valve in a convenient location in the trunk where it would not be damaged by the cargo as shown in the…
