Description of Moog DS899 Center Link

Powdered metal gusher bearing design enables grease to flow through bearing. Engineered steel composition results in a stronger component. Full ball metal stud provides 360° of smooth, consistent, rotational movement resulting in more responsive steering. Loose or worn chassis parts can lead to premature tire wear. Direct replacement for 96 Chevy Impala SS

Disassembles all the parts from different stores who is cheaper. I replaced the entire suspension on a '96 Chevy Impala SS and it was a perfect fit.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Protection

Excellent replacement part OEM

Installed with all front Moog parts on my 1996 Impala SS. Slightly more powerful than the OEM parts, but all bolted together. Smear certificates can be a little tricky to install, but other than that, installation is a breeze.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Almost ok

Not Moog! Stay away!

This is NOT part of Moog as advertised! Import junk into a Parts Master box by putting a small Moog part number sticker on the box above the Parts Master part number sticker. Another great quality brand who have sold the rights to use their name to sell junk! Stay away!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Excellent quality eliminates most of my car's steering play

I bought this Moog center arm on 26th April 2015 to eliminate the steering play/numbness after my 1986 whim. The box was yellow and blue saying Moog solves problems, upon unboxing the center link was bare metal with a sticky protective coating and looked like real US quality. In any case, the center link was much stronger than the OEM center link that was on the car and it solved most of my steering play issues. I am assuming the intermediate lever and tie rods are as follows.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Little things

Part failed prematurely - dangerous

Product (Moog DS899 center link) installed in February. The front end is level after the parts are installed. The front was loose and the tires were worn, so we sent it in for an overhaul. The Moog cocking arm and center link were junk. Mileage for spare parts under 2500 km. When the parts were installed, all front suspension parts were new, including the upper and lower wishbones and tie rods and these parts. Moog used to be a popular brand for suspension parts but obviously they aren't of the
