TAV 30 Kart Clutch Kit

Nice kit, pretty easy to install. I installed this kit on a Harbor Freight Predator 212 engine. I had to purchase (4) 5/16-24x1 bolts to install it as they are not included in the kit. I also found that the drive unit shim was too short due to the belt being misaligned, which likely caused the belt issues noted by other users. Luckily I had some DOM 3/4 x 1-1/4 pipe and was able to finish to the correct length, I'm sure you could use shims to achieve the same results.

Not bad for the price. I've read a lot of complaints but my guess is that the people who wore out the belt put it on the wrong way round. The base plate is sufficiently rigid. The primary pulley looks cheap but works great. but it seems to work. Required disassembly and adjustment. I found it strange. It is likely that this could have broken the belt or thrown the locknut if it had been tightened as intended. After careful setup, however, everything works fine. I will buy another one for my…

It doesn't just bolt onto most engines.

With a little fiddling I was able to install this torque converter on an old Briggs & Stratton kart. It has worked great for about 5 hours over the last year and a half. Suddenly the output shaft came loose from the aluminum housing. Not sure what's going on, I had to make modifications to the engine input shaft to get this to fit. As others have said you will need to replace most of the metric hardware that attaches to the motor with inch hardware. Otherwise the quality of the goods is quite…

Works like a champ.

A little worried about mixed reviews. I have 8 studs and red Loctite and no problem. Even with really aggressive winter tires this thing packs plenty of low-end power paired with a 6.5hp Homda, 54-tooth rear sprocket and 15-inch rear tires. It drives well over the front of the car through the snow without being dragged down. Those having problems should not align the front and rear pulleys or use the wrong bolts as the ones provided are metric and will not work with US SAE threaded engines…

New bolts must be purchased for use with Predator engines.

WILL NOT WORK WITH THE PREDATOR 212 CC ENGINE unless you buy new bolts for them. I didn't notice it, but it says so in the description, so I can't deduct a star for that. The whole kit is amazing and works great if you get the right screws. The weird thing about the Predator 212 is that they use SAE bolts and not metric! I still give it five stars even though it didn't come with instructions or the right screws. If you want to use it with a Predator 212 you will need to purchase four 5/16-24x1 bolts and one 5/16-24x2 bolt. Screws 5/16-18 (coarse thread) are included in the kit. No instructions were included either, but installation is fairly easy and if you need help there are plenty of YouTube videos to help you. Coleman ct200u - Torque Converter

I only rode this torque converter for about an hour. I love it! When I first had 1, it should be noted that I'm not sure if it's the setup or that torque converter. The belt isn't 100% aligned so it's rubbing and trying to lift off a bit. The screw I screwed into the jack shaft was the wrong number 1, I had a regular thread and it should have been a fine thread. I'm only giving 2 stars because the torque converter works as it should, but I've already had to buy new belts and a bronze bushing. After installation, my husband drove the kart (equipped with a Predator 212cc engine) uphill for no more than 30 minutes.
