This tire retainer places the tire too far from the tailgate. On a 35" tire this has proved to be too much for the entire MORRyd Tailgate Reinforcement Kit (Hinges, Reinforcement Plate and Tire Retainers), I am returning all 3.

The 4 screws for attaching the 3rd brake light are completely useless, too small and too short. I spent more time rummaging through my hardware box to find the right screws than installing the mount myself. Otherwise, the carrier is very beautiful and durable.

First off, this is a serious PITA install, especially when you get the whole package like I did just two weeks ago. The instructions are poor. You assume that you will install parts of the overall solution yourself. Later you realize that you need to unscrew the last piece you just made. Second, get out your soft hammer, aligning the components and inserting the screws is going to be a hassle. Be ready to swear every 10 seconds. But no kids in the garage.
