Does not fit.: Engine parts

Does not fit my new 8" balancer. I used a Professional Products 80002 damper. I was able to fit it by cutting off the bottom bracket.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost never

Good piece! - Headers

Good quality, good fit. The bottom screw is a bit tight, but that's not a problem! Easy to install in minutes on the 383 with stock 8" balancer.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Only available in black

It was a lazy day! - Timing Parts

Only installed one screw and left another screw behind the balancer to screw in, I had no motivation to move the balancer to install the screw! But it looks beautiful!

Pros
  • Rugged Finish
Cons
  • There are nuances

Needs cutting or sanding

Did not fit properly, bottom bolt needed sanding to avoid damper banging. The arrow vibrated at me. Use Loctite or it could happen to you. It's well made but should be 1/8 thinner.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some difficulties

This is a quality indicator; however description.

This is a quality indicator; However, the description should say it only fits the stamped timing case cover rather than ALL ALL ALL. Definitely will not fit if an aluminum timing case cover is used.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • So far so good

Nice piece but needs a little work to get it to fit.

Wow. What a beautiful thing. I'm building an engine from a GM box into my truck. New 8 inch balancer and used because sheet metal timing tabs suck. The problem with this is that the lower screw is still too far out when tightened and sits on the balancer. I had to cut this thing very carefully so I could fit a shorter stud and make enough room for it. Now it's perfect, but grumpy should offer it already modified.

Pros
  • GOLS certification
Cons
  • Updates

Good quality - need some mods for my application

This is a well made product. Very satisfied with the workmanship and fit. Since I'm using an alloy timing chain cover and an 8" balancer, some modifications were required. The bottom flange had to be cut off about 1/4" to reveal the balancer. The inside mounting corners had to be sanded for the cover to fit. I also bought two 2" 3/8-24 screws to give me enough depth. I cut one of them 1/4 inch. The pointer itself makes a nice update. It's very close to the balancer cap that I also installed…

Pros
  • Engine Parts
Cons
  • Reliability

Using an 8" balancer and an aluminum timing case cover this pointer didn't clean the balancer properly and was useless for my build, although with a factory or stamped steel timing case it would probably fit just fine, so beware of that. I will probably use it in another build in the future. I still give 5 stars for the good workmanship. It's not the product's fault, although perhaps they could have indicated in the description that it was specifically the stamped cover and not the thicker cast

Pros
  • Spares
Cons
  • Hard to tell

It would be nice if they just made a product like mine.

Wanted to install this on my 383 with an 8 inch balancer. Standard timing cover, nothing special. Installation is absolutely impossible as the 8" balancer is already installed on the engine. It may be possible to install it before the balancer is on the engine, but once installed the bottom bolt will touch the balancer and prevent it from being installed.Using a simple electric cutter I was able to cut the bottom off and then using a cheap pan head screw from my local hardware store fitted…

Pros
  • Engines and engine parts
Cons
  • Not bad
