He breaks the Heidenau K60 pearl!

I've used a lot of lip fenders. Side stand, clamp, better grip etc. I had high hopes for them as the weight is minimal and everything is easy. This saves space and the weight of the other two irons. They broke the bead on my 150/70-17 Heidenau K60 (F800GSA). It took several times with the cord but it broke after three attempts. Much faster, simpler and easier than any other method. I've heard complaints about the angle of the iron but they worked great. It took me a total of 20 minutes to…

Excellent pearl. Not enough leverage.

These are my first tire shovels. I have never attempted to remove or mount tires. Bought because of the bead breaking feature which worked flawlessly. In hindsight I should have gotten longer tire spoons given the 20/20. Just for reference, I was trying to remove the front tires from my 2009 Sportster (Metzler 880). Removing the tire from the wheel was easy enough. The installation, on the other hand, wasn't. Once you get to the last 1/4 of the tire setup, you'll hit the weak point of the…

Working. Logically, without reading the instructions and never removing the large dual sport tire, they allowed me to break the bead with minimal thought. Not only are they great as bead breakers, they can also be used as tire shovels. So if you're using them to build an emergency tool kit, they're a smart choice. I don't regret the purchase one bit. - By the way, if you've never changed a tire yourself, do yourself a favor and train your garage safety. It's doable, but hard work. Previous…

Stop fooling around and take them with you to the next tire change.

When I had to remove the rear tire from my 2004 BMW R1150 GSA I figured it was time for some new tire tools. I watched a few youtube videos to see how they run and then headed to the garage. After removing the valve core and spraying some Windex on the bead area, I started wading around the rim with this tool and both beads were broken the first 1/2-2/3 of the way. Just insert the bifurcated part between tire and rim and then insert the other part. Squeeze the handles and push down. I know it…

Changed tires for the first time in my yard!

Stop reading and just buy them. They do exactly what they are advertised to do. It seems that a lot of thought went into the design of these instruments. They are durable and lightweight. I put a lot of pressure on them to remove the rear Vstrom tire and never felt like they might slip or break. The inner bead of the tire wasn't scratched that badly and as the title suggests it was my first job on my bike. They were long enough to give me the leverage I needed to get the job done, but not that…
