If you need 7mm, you need it

Wish the spoke torque wrenches included a 7mm socket. I have one of the 5 wheels that requires a 7mm wrench. This is great and certainly better than breaking spoke nipples with the wrong tools. If you need 7mm you can't go wrong. The product is exactly as in the photo.

Not the quality expected from Motion Pro!

The chrome finish was good but the key cutouts were clearly not square and tended to round out the spoke nipples. The spoke wrench included in the bike's toolbox was a little slower but much better made. Thumbs up for that!

  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Feels good in hand

Works well with Supermoto Warp 9 wheels which fit snugly unlike the regular 7mm wrench I tried first. Great in hand. The only downside is that the Warp 9 needles are oversized and won't work with semi-enclosed wrenches, with a little work with the dremel tool the mouth opening now works great.

and a shiny half-open end

This is a really nice tool that gets me tuning every wheel in the garage and it can take a while. Seriously, the feel, the different angles at each end, and the shiny semi-open end are awesome. I broke a cheaper flat/thick design wrench on Amazon. They are open to the public - those with stepped jaws - even without such heavy leverage. Shit. But these. This!. by Motion Pro is a liberator. • Some Cons

Maybe it was just me, or maybe it was the age of spoked wheels, but I really had to struggle with those spokes to get the wheels right. I find that lots of WD-40 or penetrating oil and enough patience to let it dry for a few hours would be better. Also, in my experience (or it was experience), this was/is a reliable little wrench that gets the job done.

Cons
  • No Power

Not an exact tool. A very sloppy fit and guaranteed to thread the spoke nuts. The line wrench style box end should be a 15 degree angled end, but it isn't, and the angled end is an even sloppier open end. With the 15 degree angle, you can simply turn a wrench to get a different approach instead of dragging the wheel around to approach from the opposite side. I suspect the Chinese engineers don't understand why our combination wrenches evolved to include an angle head. It's a thing called toolโ€ฆ
