Nothing like OEM: Brake Pads

Replacing my 2 year old aftermarket pads and rotors with original parts in my 2007 Sporttrac. From visual inspection alone I can tell that the original models are of much higher quality and attention to detail compared to the Duralast brand. I'll let you know if I change my mind using them but for now I would say these are the best brake pads for your Ford truck. The pads came with clips in a sealed pouch.

Pros
  • Glossy
Cons
  • No paint required

Not compatible with 06 Explorer Eddie Bauer

After installing new pads on the caliper, the lower hooks did not seat on the caliper bracket. The caliper guide pins have been retracted. As a result, I took Duralast pads out of the Autozone and they went through with no issues. The pad frame was a different design from the Motorcraft pads. Especially the lower part of the hook with the motorcycle frame has a large area here. Of course it would be possible to sand it again, but I didn't have the tools to do it.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Bad experience

When it comes to brakes Markenstick

I just did the rear brake yesterday. I replaced them with the 2mm and 3mm on the rear brakes so of course I didn't notice any difference between the new and old sets as it should. Yes, there is a metal plate under the ceramic that may or may not stop you in time, but metal on metal can damage the calipers (brake mechanism) so don't wait when yours need replacing. I can't think of a more important part of a car than the brakes. Maybe generic or remanufactured brands are just as good, maybe not…

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
