Great replacement for the 2004 Focus.

Fixed belt issues on my wife's 2004 Ford Focus 2.0 dohc. The car feels a lot better. No more squeaking with that old loose tensioner.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Not suitable for Focus Duratec engines as advertised.

Will NOT fit 2005 Focus 2 liter engine. It's not even close. Luckily I was able to remove the new pulley from the arm and put it on my old tensioner arm. The bearing on my old pulley was worn, but everything else was fine.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Will be added later

Worked great on a 2001 Ford Focus SE DOHC with automatic transmission

Worked great on a 2001 Ford Focus SE DOHC with automatic transmission. Bought when a brand new Gates part failed to hold belt tension at idle. I think maybe there's something to be said for the genuine Ford parts with the Motorcraft name. More than twice the price of a Gates part, but it works! money well spent.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Buy this - don't skimp on the secondary market like I tried!

Something to say about OEM parts. The original lasted 15 years and 180,000 miles. The $35 secondary market lasted 10 months. Never again with the aftermarket. A definite difference in design, much more durable. Should last longer than the car - the extra $20 spent buying this OEM part last year would have saved me a tow and a broken belt.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

The part is defective after 15,000 km and after the warranty has expired.

Worked like a champ trust these parts Motorcraft July 9, 2019 Part failed after 15,000 miles. The tensioner appeared to be locked in its original position and did not tension the old, newly purchased Motorcraft belt that was 10+ years old, now it's 13 years old. I suspect the inner coil spring was rusted before I bought it and 15k broke it. You can shake it and hear it rattle inside. I no longer buy auto parts from Revain. Who knows how old this part was when it was sold to me.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable
