As others have said

I took the advice of others and spent the extra money on a quality product. I tried cleaning the old one and even after cleaning my ranger was still not working properly. Severe twitching at a red light etc. Motorcraft IAC installed in 5 minutes, started, twisted and what do you know. Idle problems are gone, there are no ground problems. As others have said, don't worry about a cheaper product. Get engine build quality and you're done. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Save your money, see a mechanic first!

code P1504 says IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE so I looked up this part by my VIN and that was the part. Installed, reset/removed error codes and guess what. Code p1504 and check engine light came on again. I've reset this over 20 times with an OBD2 code reader and the code never got fixed. I also disconnected the battery to reset the PCM/motor, same results. It was a huge waste of money and a huge waste of my time, time can never be repaid!

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • not as thick as other options

So far, so good! for fuel system

After reading a few reviews I decided to spend some extra money and bought a Ford motorcycle. Replace some electronic components. The coil pack was bad so I bought an aftermarket pack that works fine then the idle worked so I bought this unit. It works very well and I think if the aftermarket coil pack goes bad I'll spend the extra money and buy the bike. (07/21/21)

Idle Air Control Valve Idle Air Control

Firstly, it matches the Ranger 3.0 petrol engine, although Revain said it didn't. My idle went up and down, stopping at the brake lights, and then the engine light came on. After doing some research online, I found that idle control is the most common problem. After installation, the engine idled better, but not perfectly. I figured that with this new part, the computer would probably have to relearn the idle settings. The engine light was on for about 2 days then went off and now the idle…

Pros
  • High marks from testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Negative result given

This cheap car drives better than the expensive one

Trust me on this one. We bought the Taurus cheap. Just because they scattered pieces of it and couldn't get it to work properly. One of the parts they replaced was the IAC. They found the cheapest Chinese aftermarket IAC they could find. The code moved MAC yet. Replaced the new one with a new Motocraft. This cheap car drives better than the expensive one. Use Motocraft parts if necessary. I bet the people who sold us the car would love one. Seemingly. Aftermarket idle valves do not have the…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Part fits 2003 Ford Ranger Edge, 3.0 Flex Fuel, 2WD. There was an issue that caused the engine RPM to drop at idle after turning on the A/C, which would tell the ECM to turn off the A/C compressor to prevent the engine stalling issue. Replacing it fixed this issue. I used to buy a non-OEM IAC but returned because the connector alignment was so far out that my wiring harness didn't reach. Not much wiggle room with this one. He had the same problem but not to the same extent as the others. The…
