This is exactly what I expected from Motorcraft. I have big hands so accessing the resistance was an issue for me due to its location. Before the exchange I watched a few videos on YouTube and they helped a lot. If your fan on your Conductor only runs in HIGH or OFF mode and you have manual speed control then this is the solution.

*In response to other comments: do your due diligence. Manufacturers change things frequently, and sometimes mid-model year. So make sure you buy the right part. Which can be difficult. Now on that subject: perfect. There were only speed controls 3 and 4 and this restored the fan function from the lowest speed 1 to the highest speed 4. Thanks very much! Now I can sell my explorer and everything works.

Required item because I only have 2 gears. After watching a youtube video on the replacement, it only took 20 minutes in my 2009 explorer. The cost was half that of the local parts store so it wasn't difficult. Just prepare an 8mm socket with extension and an 8mm wrench. So easy that I have no idea why I waited so long. Just make sure you have manual controls and not digital climate zones (don't think it will be the same).

It's worth noting that the 2nd generation Sport Trac may have two different fan motor switches. You'll have to take the old one out first to see if this one fits (mine didn't). Since you'll have to do this before ordering this anyway, you're better off taking the genuine part to your local parts store like I did. It ends up costing almost as much as this paddle online and you won't be wasting your money for nothing. a seller who doesn't inform you that this part may not fit even though Amazon…
