Type of review

I attached the lamp to the cabinet ceiling. It's bright enough to illuminate the top of hanging clothes, but dims when looking at things on the floor. The increase in battery depends on how often you turn on the light. Mine is activated 4-5 times a day. I get about 6 1/2 months use from the Rayovac Hi Energy battery pack. The manufacturer's application for 1 year must meet some optimal conditions. The sensor is very sensitive, so when mounting, do not place it within range of the area you do…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other picks

Great light - Long battery life - Very bright

It has been 1 1/2 years since I bought this light and I just changed the batteries today. We use this light in our pantry and it is positioned to turn on when you open the pantry door. This is a long lasting large light that illuminates the pantry very well. We've tried other LED hanging lights (with a switch) but they drain the batteries very quickly, leading to frequent replacements. The best thing about this light is that the detachable mounting plate makes it easy to dig in, remove and…

When they work they are great

I have a bright bathroom but when the shower curtain is closed the shower is dimly lit so the plumbing is in the shower. When the light works, it works great and does its job, but 80% of the time it won't turn on, even if I wave my hand in front of my eyes. Basically, the sensor is triggered when I first enter the bathroom, but even then it sometimes doesn't work. and if you don't reach the shower within 20 seconds (while the light is on) it no longer senses movement so it won't turn on. So…

useless. Just use a flashlight or headlamp.

I used to buy Mr. Beam's things to light up a dark garage and hallways and they were adequate, but these lights are useless. I have a tiny flashlight on my dog's collar for night walks and about the same lighting. Got this for a closet that doesn't have a hard light port and casts a small shadow around the clothes around a multicolored circle of low light (like a flashlight). No spread at all. I'll just use my headlamp until I find something suitable. It's silly, difficult to install or take…

Nice extra lighting for closets

I wanted two lights for some closets in the upstairs hallway. I almost didn't buy them after reading about the modifications people had to make to the product as the lights won't come on if there is too much light around. I went ahead and bought them anyway. Modifications may be required for specific locations, but I found that in my situation by experimenting with the placement of the lights I was able to get it to work without any modifications, even with the overhead lights on. Before…

Bright, directional, moving LED spots

These lights are well fixed to the wall and give off a fairly bright light. They're not very bright, but if the battery lasts long, I'm happy. I had to give 3 stars because the two devices I received differ slightly in performance. One has a whiter or bluer light while the other has a more yellow one. Any color temperature is fine for me, but I wish they were a little more consistent since I installed them side-by-side in the same room. One of them is much more activated by movement than the…

Buyers beware - poor unit with poor customer service/support

I bought one of these LED ceiling lights in March and I love them. I decided to buy two packs and install them in new places. Unfortunately, one of the blocks kept tripping falsely when there was no traffic in the area. Batteries were empty after a few days. I called the manufacturer and that's when my dissatisfaction began. They told me to try another brand of battery. The? I explained to them that I have another similar device with the same batteries, but no way. So I followed the advice and…

Bright for an LED - weird prism effect - does the job

We have a very dark closet in the hall that needs some light. The thought of cables and boxes and drywall made me cringe, so I looked for alternatives. There were several other well-reviewed options for the Revain, but people seemed disappointed with the light output. It was the only light source that quantified a light output of 100 lumens, which is pretty good for a battery-powered LED flashlight. The installation is very easy. Keep in mind that this flashlight takes 4 C batteries, luckily I…
