Keeps us warm day and night

First I bought it for our hike. It worked wonderfully. Easy assembly and disassembly for setting up. I've learned that if he moves even a little, he'll pass out. This was useful to know in case someone accidentally stumbles across it. It was a good investment. My only complaint is that it came upside down and not in a plain box so anyone who walked by knew exactly what I ordered from my front porch. I have never had this experience and I hope I will never have it again.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great outdoor heating.

Great warmth as others have said, not a high low setting but when it's cold it quenches the heat. I placed a fan blowing from above so that the rising heat reaches this area as well. A lightweight. Didn't burn long enough to finish it but it worked great for about 4 hours. Don't hold your head or any section of your hair forward when lighting it as it will create a large flame but nothing you shouldn't know beforehand. Heat can easily be felt from 10-12 feet. With a fan at a distance of 15-18…

Keeps the ice tent warm enough but can't turn it off

My son bought this to go ice fishing with us and it was delivered to our house. It's not too heavy, rolls easily on wheels, and never gives off heat. He had an ice shell hut that was about 10 or 12 feet tall and it was very nice and every once in a while I opened the window or turned it the other way so it wouldn't get too hot. I would enjoy it a lot more if I could turn the heating off every now and then. I was just thinking about it, but maybe I could turn the propane tank handle down and…

The manufacturer costs nothing.

I bought this heater (2 weeks ago) for use in our carpentry shop. During operation, the device generates enough heat, but this is not harmless since the tilt switch does not work. I contacted Mr. Heather which was a nightmare. After having to press #2 every 105 seconds for 50 minutes, I finally gave up and left an angry message. Surprisingly, if I called him back on his direct line and provided the serial number (the Revain order number was insufficient), Gary called me back, apologizing for…

Excellent fireball

I searched for a long time before deciding on this device. It works well but quickly consumes a 20lb cylinder, it seems like maybe 4-6 hours. It would be nice if you could regulate the heat output. The first time you do this it will take some time to clear the line of any stagnant air in the supply line. It can even catch fire for a short time and then flush again for a long time. You're not doing anything wrong, just keep pushing the pilot's thermocouple bypass button even if you smell…

Simple, offers great warmth

I ended up buying this for the covered portion of my back patio as the ceiling was two levels lower to safely use the 'normal' heaters you see on restaurant patios . This block Mr. Der Heater looks a little more industrial than these, but its low profile keeps it from catching your attention. What you don't see from the picture (or manual or description) is that the hose that comes with it to connect to the low pressure cylinder is a generous 12 feet long. The manual (which is overloaded with…

Great heater for my deck in North Georgia.

I recently added a beautiful deck to my home in North Georgia to make it easier for me to enjoy the great outdoors and entertain my friends. With the onset of cold weather I bought this heater to warm the very place where we were sitting or eating. For me, this works better than a patio heater that radiates 360 degrees of heat because it directs the heat to a specific area. I suspect the heater sends heat about 9-10 feet straight and about the same range depending on whether you're having a…
