Used my last Fat Boy MAPP gas tank and found they are no longer made. The Fat Boy was much sturdier than standard high top hats. Since the burner is used in the kitchen, it's nice to be able to mount the cylinder vertically and securely. This device is ideal for this application.

Perfectly supports a tall propane tank. I don't think he will be holding a camping gas bottle. But I didn't buy it for that! My top hat no longer falls. Even fell, and the stand is perfect, and the bottom of the cylinder is dented. 5 stars thanks for a great product

This should last a long time. It holds the MAPP disposable gas cylinder firmly and is not wobbly. It's not durable, which I wasn't expecting anyway. It has a hollow base and the plastic is thick enough that durability shouldn't suffer - as long as you keep it off the hot end! The price when I bought it last week was about $6.50 which I think is a good price. (If it was $10 or more, I'd probably think it's overpriced.)

This item is great. I've used these flashlights my whole life and only recently thought of looking for something similar. Usually the bottom of the MAPP and propane tanks are dented which prevents the burner from standing on its own. This type makes it stable and easy to use. I LOVE IT. I usually wrap duct tape around the bottom of the canister before nailing the stand to the floor. Works like a charm and rarely falls off. Random pond on the ground and it stays tight.
