Wires are too loose to last a month

Very pretty egg slicer. Unfortunately, a month after purchase and after cutting less than a dozen eggs, the wires became too loose and now won't cut through. To be honest, just buy the slightly more expensive thing that can work so you don't end up spending your money twice.

  • Comfortable

Broke on first use while slicing mushrooms

Why is it so hard to find a durable egg slicer? I know it's cheap but I've tried a few and they all break. Admittedly, I use mine primarily for slicing mushrooms, not eggs, so the slicer is a little fiddly, but this one broke its "blades" when I first used it. I use the term "blade" loosely because they're more like metal floss. I had to throw it in the trash.

  • Good stuff

Cutting wire thin but strong

Holy Moly. Making egg salad is a little easier. I used this slicer for my egg salad. Okay, this isn't life changing, but it saved me a few minutes cutting and slicing eggs. I just chop them up with this crazy little chicken and move on. The slices will fall apart as other ingredients are added. I actually like slightly larger egg pieces. However, I am concerned because a thin wire can break if there is too much pressure or a hard piece of food in it. But I'll make sure it lasts longer. A few…

Absolute rubbish - stay away

When I tried it for the first time, I tried to cut an olive. The wires are broken. No, there wasn't a stone in the olive. I sent it back, got a replacement and tried to cut an egg with it. One of the wires stretched and became unusable. I tried another egg and one of the other wires broke completely. There should be 8 wires, and now I have 6 (three of which are now disconnected) after only 2 hard boiled eggs. It's now practically useless unless I need two double-thick egg slices every time I…

3 stars for function - FIVE for cuteness

I bought an EggMan egg slicer after an unfortunate incident where I genuinely thought I could CUT strawberries with it. I would not recommend it. The item arrived before the end date and is an EGGxact replacement for the one I "deactivated". OK, it's broken. NOT the best, but enough to cut the eggs as directed. Overall, I believe most people buy this more for looks than function. be as good as, say, an all-metal slicer. It's not a HEAVY burden. Helpful, that's it. The cut metal strings are a…

Pretty standard egg slicer

I ordered this to replace my old cool egg slicer. I think I'm particularly strict with them because they always manage to break a wire or two. It's really cute and serves its purpose. I was cutting bananas to make banana chips the other day and it occurred to me that this slicer might work. This worked great until I cut off a piece of banana that was too long for the cut surface and put the lid on anyway. I ended up ripping out the wire (or in this case it looks like the cutting blades are…
