Fans can't be noisy, but setting the smartphone mode helped a lot, after the fans didn't work 50% I can keep my temperature constant at 32-34 degrees Celsius. It stays at around 45 degrees Celsius under minigame load. It runs at around 52-55 degrees Celsius under load of Red Dead Redemption and Fallout. Overall very happy with the purchase, I have fans as exhaust for my AIO as my case is smaller. It would probably be possible to have cooler temps, but there is practically no heat in my case…

Solid cooler on computer components

Decided to try the MSI cooler as it is a brand I am familiar with and I have a motherboard from them. The cooler itself looks good. Doesn't feel cheap. I love the glowing dragon, it really makes the pc better. However, my only small issue is the installation guide, which was poor. Relying on a few setup photos in the manual doesn't help. Luckily there are tutorials on YouTube for installing this water cooler which helped me a lot. The cooler does not make any noise, which is very pleasant. My…

Potential quality control issues.

I have plus or minus 20 years of experience building and repairing my own personal computers. This is the first water cooler I've ever used and maybe the most annoying build in a long time. Every screw hole on either side of the rail was either improperly drilled or misthreaded, or possibly clogged with the paint they put on it. In any case, I had to manually rethread each of them in order for me to use them (on both sides of the radial!). I don't think that's acceptable. Other than that, it…

MSI AIO, do it, what are you waiting for?

EDIT: After installing it I realized I did something wrong. If you noticed my last photo, the hoses are now at the bottom of the radiator. Please note that this will prevent air bubbles from entering the CPU block which can cause heat issues. I haven't had any problems, but I've heard others have problems with all brands. To be honest, a lot. I didn't even need it, but for the price I figured why not? It was easy to install, the processor fluctuates between 34° and 40° during operation. To be…

Tested with 10700K and MCE

Pros: - Temperatures with TVB on and MCE off are very good, max 67C in AIDA64 FPU tests for 1 hour on all cores, not bad for a 240mm radius - Mounting material is easy to operate , and MSI thought very well about the layout and also used spring-loaded turnbuckles to facilitate proper mounting pressure. - The mounting position is the same as other AIOs, the side tanks are not too big to fit in normal 240mm mounting positions. - Cold plate is very large compared to Asetek products, supposedly…

Effective but louder than the competition.

The cooler is very large, the MSI image doesn't show the dimensions very well. This is much louder than my h100i on my 7700k which had similar performance. One thing to note is that the cooler offers a lot of customization options in terms of am4 mounting hardware. You won't notice the problem until it's fully installed and you put the magnetic cover on the cooler. Mine was 1 click away so the cooler isn't perfectly parallel to the RAM. The cables exit both sides of the cooler so my…

First AIO purchase, money well spent

This is my first experience with a closed loop AIO cooling system and I am very satisfied. Chassis Lian Li 205M. I set up the front of the AIO so that the exit notches are on top. I didn't like how it looked top mounted in this case, which got in the way of the top of the board and the frame. Yes I've seen relevant GN videos, the fact that the MSI aio had a pump mounted in the middle of the heatsink heavily influenced my decision to use it with a block design pump instead of the others. The…

Cooler than cool on water cooling systems

CoreLiquid K240, I like the end result. Installation takes longer than installing a traditional air cooler, but the result is worth it. Many people say there are better alternatives for the money, including other AIO LCDs that can create animated GIFs. To be honest if he did animated GIFs he would be more competitive in this niche. My body temperature is 33C on a Ryzen 1600. I came across the K240 while watching tech videos on YouTube. I had never seen anything like it and had to have it. If I…
