To be clear, this gate has 5 stars if it is appropriate for YOUR situation. Lower star ratings indicating they had to do A LOT of extra work to get it working or couldn't use it due to sharing issues are certainly valid. So before you buy, think about where you want the gate to be. Make sure you have at least ONE side (where the hinge will attach) with enough clearance for the gate to slide on, and then at least a few inches of clearance over the top for the latch to work (see my tips below!) .
