Pretty. not very good

This item looked great, but on my Music Hall 5.1se it noticeably increased the noise. The disc that comes with the player is well balanced. I would not recommend this dish for a music hall despite saying it is a music hall dish.

Pros
  • cool
Cons
  • some problems

Fine-tuning your Hi-Fi system is always an instant delight.

The debut of the Pro Eject Carbon with redesigned platter, the sound has changed a lot and looks cool. I have decided to upgrade my Music Hall 3.3 le to an acrylic panel. Same effect. Acoustically a big improvement. Highly recommended and inexpensive compared to audiophile upgrades and tweaks.

Candy Turntable in Turntables

I purchased this disc with the Music Hall 2.3se which originally came with a black steel disc. I like the look of a frozen plate. I use this without a mat over it which helps reduce static. In general, there isn't much of a difference in sound quality, but it does help make the player look more impressive.

Happy to report it works!

Replaced the heavy metal plate on my mmf5.1se Music Hall (with a good MC truck) and cut off the bass resonance a bit! Especially when using a clamp. To make sure I don't just THINK I'm hearing tighter bass when playing music, I place the stylus on a stationary (non-spinning) record. With the original metal plate + leather mat, my sub woofer started vibrating at 45% amp volume. Then, using an acrylic plate with no clamp, I cranked the volume up to about 55% before feedback started to appear…

Pros
  • Not just usable for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Minor issues

Greatly improves the look of Pro-Ject or Music Hall turntables and also provides a better resonance-free platter base than the compatible original metal platters that come with Debut or Music Hall platters. I'm not sure if there's a huge weight difference between the OEM metal and acrylic tops as I haven't actually weighed them, but I'm guessing the metal top is a bit heavier. However, metal panels tend to ring and transmit vibration while acrylic panels don't, so there are some design…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

So I've read pretty much everything I could find online about this product. I have the Pro-ject Debut Carbon DC in white. The thing looks great, how does it sound and is there a difference at all? yes there is a difference I have an Ortofon 2M Red and am using a Denon X4000 with an Emotiva XPA-3 power amp. In terms of sound, the acrylic panel reduces background noise and smooths out some hisses (sss and h-sh-sh) that are distorted by high-pitched voices on the pickup. It also boosted the bass…
