I bought it to glue the car I'm painting. I've used similar products so I have something to compare. It has a decent band and I love that it comes in a variety of sizes. However, the plastic is very thin and breaks easily. I sealed the carbon fiber well and the green paint seeped through the plastic. I sealed the hood with tape and made sure there were no holes. Now I have to sand and polish the paint because of false advertising.

If you want to disguise something, forget it. It's so thin it breaks very easily. The tape tends to stick to plastic areas as it unrolls and then break. The tape has a hard time sticking to what you're covering and any breeze will crumple it up when you use it. Some of them are not folded properly and do not come off the roll as expected. I tried using this product to mask off areas of my truck that needed repainting, and failed miserably on this minimal test. You get what you pay for cheap cheap cheap means exactly that. As soon as you start unpacking, as soon as you come out of the box, the tape sticks to the sheepskin from the start, it rips and tangles and sticks to itself and you can don't tear it once. it sticks to itself, you tear the plastic. I am restoring/converting a 2007 Econoline into an Adventure Van. It had rust in the gutters as is often the case with these cars. I also have a 2009 Econoline where I needed to fix rust in the gutters. In 2009 I sealed the area with masking tape, paper and cardboard. It took a lot of time and effort, but I cut out the whole cardboard. I wouldn't recommend doing it this way as it took me over 1-2 hours to record and edit. I purchased masking sheeting along with a few extra rolls of 2 inch tape.

I don't know why there are so many complaints. I've only used this to dress up my car to darken my chrome and it worked great. The light plastic adheres perfectly to the body thanks to its statics and I don't even have to glue it to the loose ends or overlaps. I've used it for spray painting and wet sanding with no problems, of course I don't sand plastic as I'm careful not to go over the edge of the belt.
