Good for power tool spares

This worked well, it has teeth on either side that are spaced differently so it fits a few sizes. It fits my Dewalt angle grinder and works as it should. I tied it to the end of a fork so I wouldn't lose it.

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • Expensive

Exactly as described perfect for my dad

I bought this for my dad because he couldn't find it in any tool store. He has every imaginable tool, so I was happy to buy him one. It's exactly what he needs and the quality is excellent.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Not automatic

Stupidly corrected: Spare parts for power tools

I accidentally put a concrete grinding wheel on an angle grinder without a spacer. I turned it on and it started spinning, causing the disc to push against the grinder with great force. The hex key it came with didn't have enough power to move it. This tool, with a little extra effort, freed the disc from the grinder.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Much better than the allen wrench they give you

So I hate that stupid allen wrench they give you with angle grinders. I was surprised to see this key when I got my angle grinder compared to the one here with two contact points. I had locked a wheel with a nut on a grinder and thought I had to cut it off because I had so much torque on the hex wrench I thought it was going to snap. This worked MUCH better, but I had to hit it with a hammer to loosen the nut. Worth every penny!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Short instructions

cheap but should work fine

It is listed as a DeWalt OEM part. This is a really cheap stamped metal key. hope it lasts That's the right nut size on my coffee grinder, so that's the main goal. I don't think I've ever seen such a cheaply made/finished DeWalt item. By the way, it is slightly different from the item in the photo and has "teeth" on both sides of the key. The thickness of the "teeth" varies. The distance is the same. I did not measure whether the actual size matches what is stated in the product description.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Width across flats and spacing

Why aren't the width across flats and spacing included in the product details!? That's why I deducted 1 star. I'm also annoyed that it doesn't fit my coffee grinder. Here are the details. You might as well get a SMALL benefit from this key. As other reviewers have noted, the 2 different sizes refer to pin diameters, not pin spacing, which are the same on both sides. Center to center, the pins on either side of the wrench are spaced exactly 1 3/8 inches apart. NOT 1.25" as stated in some reviews

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Small change
