Gives water a plastic taste

As soon as the bottle arrived I washed it thoroughly with Dawn detergent along with two "Nalgene Tritan BPA Free Narrow Neck Water Bottles, 32 oz / 1 quart" and a 20 oz BPA Complimentary Nalgene Tritan MultiDrink Water Bottle Blue Nalgene Bottle. I filled them with purified water and took them to tennis to try out which ones I like best. Unlike the others, this bottle gave the water a terrible plastic taste. The lock feature doesn't work that well either. The cap of the Tritan Narrow Mouth can…

Leak Proof Durable Water Bottle

If you need a leak proof water bottle then this is a really good option. It holds 650ml / 24oz. and didn't actually leak, even while driving, hiking/climbing, or thrown into a computer backpack. We have received three different colors and over the past 4-5 weeks of constant use there has not yet been any sign of mold or any unusual discoloration under the cap. Of the three, one appears to be an older (or possibly newer) model, with the logo elsewhere and some other minor variations, but all…

This is a win-win purchase. Best bottle for price and performance.

I'm just buying my 9th and 10th bottles and I have to add my two cents to these wonderful bottles because I have a lot of experience with them. -- I've read complaints about the lid being difficult to close. I have NEVER had this problem. I open and close it with my thumb while driving or walking. It doesn't need two hands (well, maybe it would for a kid). - I've read complaints about mold on the inside of the flip top lid, specifically the soft gasket inside the spout lid. NEVER had this…

Good bottle, weak cap

Have been using this product since Christmas. Now that it's been used for 8 months of work I feel like I can reconsider. Pros: If you use a metal clip, the lid will not leak (see Why a metal clip is a disadvantage). Works perfectly. I wash it a week or two, there is no mold. I try to vent the bottle when it's empty (if I remember). Holds enough water so I only fill it with ice and water at the start of the day and the ice stays for hours. Cons: There is a small plastic square on the lid for the

Withstands child abuse

Had my baby for about 3 months. I've been to summer camps and school. Fell down a few times. It's still worth it. I find it easy to close even with arthritis. It's easy to close regularly even for an 11 year old. I wash it every day or at least give it a quick rinse every day after school and let it dry overnight. I used a regular bottle brush but recently bought a silicone bottle brush which I like better. Don't worry about the sponge part getting dirty because there is no sponge part. I wash…

Designed by a committee too eager to get away for the weekend.

I liked other bottles from Nalgene I have bought many. Well made, durable as advertised. Unfortunately, this bottle is an exception. The problem is in the lid. It's made so that the entire top becomes a rounded carry handle and everything else is there to make the carry strap strong and comfortable. However, this means: - the entire cap is very heavy - this makes the bottle inherently unstable. : When partially empty it can tip over too easily - the user must hold the very heavy top of the lid…

The best water bottle I've ever used. I love it and I think you will too!

I live a camping life. I always walk from point A to point B with a large bag or backpack full of things that cannot be damaged by water. I've used dozens of water bottles over the years and there's always been a problem: one is too big to fit in my purse or water bottle pocket on my backpack, another leaks like nobody needs it, another has one Straw that just doesn't stay tied so you're gulping air most of the time and others just don't close nice and tight. One day I was talking to my sister…
