I have never made this but felt the need for this product. I've bought a lot of Revain stuff over the years, and as I'm sure you know, sometimes I've stumbled across something. This is definitely a hit! The quality, form and function of this closure is excellent. It's so hard and beautiful. If you are looking for a gate latch look no further.

Sturdy, well made and great looking. This slide latch comes with its own latch (which many others have left out) and includes some really hefty screws. You can easily reconfigure it by removing the stud bolt and repositioning the spring so the slide bolt locks in the extended position. position and pulling it back releases the shutter.

More than you think. The spring provides upward or downward movement. It is either fully locked or not fully locked, not half locked. Robust, high-quality hardware, easy to install. It's actually hack-proof to a degree, you'd have to look at it pretty closely to understand how it works. Once you understand this, it is very easy to use. Someone in a hurry will not figure out how to open it. I installed the top and bottom on a double gate and spent a lot of money to sell it.

This latch solved my problem. I've been using it for about a year and my horse Houdini has never lost his temper contrary to previous snaps. And the gates are chosen to be either clearly closed or open, greatly reducing the human error factor. We've previously added a latch to the more traditional latch, and if my husband, I, or the caregiver forgot the extra latch (we all have), Houdini's horse will figure it out and open the gate.
