I hate this latch for door hardware and locks

I hate this latch, it's very flimsy and as others have said the sloping sides make it difficult to grab a hold of to close. or open. A complete waste of money if you want to close the door completely.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • So far so good

Outwardly they look beautiful, but the locking mechanisms are very weak.

I ordered 2 of these and both were already broken when I opened the package. Outwardly they look beautiful, but the locking mechanisms are made very cheaply. Too bad they decided to skimp on the flat spring that holds the lock. For another 1/4 cent they can have a product that actually works.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • will be added later

Replica of a pocket door mechanism in my house from 1988

I broke the pull on my old pocket door and was looking for a replacement. This is exactly what I needed, but the new brass is a little less polished than the old brass I already had. Since these are double pocket doors, the old handle is next to the new one. To preserve the look, I simply disassembled the new and old handle and used the "outer" shell from the old block.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Broke after 4 months

Bought for my new pocket doors in my master bathroom. It looks great but is difficult to use, the lock is really tiny and difficult to grab. But the most annoying thing is that the lock broke! Went to jam once, after only 4 months of installation and it just broke, won't spin at all. Revain would only allow me to return within 30 days of purchase. Warranty stinks, think twice before buying stuff like this from Revain.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not like my original.

. and I'm not some retiree complaining about "modernity" (although I'm retired, old man!). I removed the old broken device. I compared them and this one was just as similar to the old one as it is in the photos. I installed it. It fit right into the original space. Screwed it in and found two things I'm really not happy with: The back edges are sticking out of the door. No screw/plate fumbling has changed that. I put the old one back in, it fits the door perfectly. Oh, well, it sticks out a…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
