Don't open the hinged door

I installed this to hold some audio/video equipment. The total weight is below the tolerance described in the description, but once the unit was installed and I opened the front hinges to connect, the entire door (with unit attached) fell out and onto the floor. Not cool. Don't recommend this if you want to use the rotation feature. In addition, a Saga shelf is installed under the weight of the stereo receiver. Two hits, two stars.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Unacceptably difficult assembly!

It took a very long time to assemble this stand. 32 screws for a 155 rack? This is a ridiculously bad design that doesn't take into account the end user's time to assemble and use the product. I've built hundreds of racks in my career and none of them have taken anywhere near that long. The first thing I had to do was get the grinder on a part of the frame to get the parts to fit together because during the production process parts were sent out that weren't supposed to pass quality control.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Works great but hinged door won't stay closed

This is a really nice stand for my AV gear that I placed in an unfinished basement room next to our theater room. Holds 2 amps, my fios boxes, blu ray and my surround sound receiver. It was relatively easy to install and the stand itself is solid. BUT, the pivoting front gate that everything is attached to is "latched" with a small pin. This pen is not strong enough to support the weight of the device. it opens by itself immediately every time. I had to lock the gate (I didn't need it anyway).

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

IT'S NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!

DO NOT BUY! This "stand" has many disadvantages. I deal with AV stands regularly. Compared to Mid-Atlantic or Sunusi, it's not even in the same city, let alone a stadium. Do not attempt to open this device while ANY HARDWARE is installed. The hinges don't feel fully engaged when they are. I only had shelves installed and when I pulled the pins out to make it recline the other end kept popping out and I had to struggle to get it back in place. Hinge release pins are not available when the rack…

NavePoint 15U Wall Mount

The NavePoint 15U wall mount stand is exactly what I was looking for. held in the frame with four 3/8" pins. The beauty of this rack is that two of these pins can be removed, allowing the unit to be opened like a door and the back serviced. Remember, you have the top and bottom Having to leave room to access these pins. The downside is that the rear is over 17" wide which means it won't fit the 16" center studs. In my case I have a 2 x 4 frame I then attached the 2 x 4 frame to 15U and screwed…
