Good product in testers

Easy to read. The only problem I have is the direct connect tool above. Very sporadic - sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't work very well or doesn't work at all. I can touch an outlet that I know is live, but the meter reads no current. A few quick presses on the end of the sensor and it's working again. I don't use this sensor that often, but everything else seems to be working fine, which is why I'm giving this tool higher marks.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Something else

The display is dark - unreadable in daylight.

Not sure what's going on, but this display is dim and hard (impossible) to read in anything other than a dark cave. I returned the first one because I was sure the display was broken - compared to other pictures which were bright. Now I have a spare and the display is just as dark. See pictures. One in the sun, the other in the shade. Both are difficult to read, which is not described.

  • Solid Surface

Good but dangerous, something is wrong

the device is reliable and the screen is great, but when I switch from one function to another it doesn't read.! shows all zeros. I have to turn it off and then turn it back on and it goes back to normal. It's annoying and dangerous especially when you trust him to read some critical situations and he shows you null. I was electrocuted once but thank goodness it wasn't that much voltage because I trusted it and didn't double check. Now I'm moving with a voltage sensor to check it until I get…

Auto-off can be overridden (Undocumented)

Instead of repeating what others have said, here's a hint. To cancel the auto power off, press and hold the "SEL” button while turning on the device. There is no clock icon in the upper left corner and it will not turn off after 15 minutes. It beeps like it's about to shut down, but it's nothing more than a reminder. All in all a really good meter. The only downside I've found so far is that it doesn't pick up voltage ripple on a DC power supply. Example: I had a ripple of 1.5V 60Hz at a supply

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Don't remind me

I wasn't expecting much for $40

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from a $40 DMM. My triplet recently died after using it since 1984. I needed a temporary DMM until I could use Fluke or another triplet. I had the new one for a full 3 hours and I already love it! Solid touch device, nice easy-to-read display that doesn't need a backlight that typically turns off after 10 seconds. The built-in flashlight is cool, the probes are good quality too. This is a very sensitive meter: I just touched the positive tip of the probe…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

This is a very useful multimeter

I've been ASE certified in Electrical Diagnostics for 33 years so I walked a few meters. Since losing my high-end flukes in an accident 20 years ago, I've gravitated toward cheaper (less painful if lost or damaged) gauges. The reasons for this are the LED screen, which makes it very easy to read, and the ability to use auto-ranging or manual settings. Autoranging has given me some trouble in the past so I prefer the manual settings which make this easy. It's also easy to use autorange if…

Great budget multimeter!

This multimeter has the best display I have ever owned and is very accurate on everything I have measured. I appreciate the auto range feature. I'm not sure how often I'll use it, but I like the option. It also stays on for a while before turning off automatically. Two of my favorite things about it: 1. The volume is loud enough when checking for continuity.2. As long as it's standing, I can turn the dial with one hand and it won't fall off. This is my first blood glucose meter and I think it's

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Blank

This meter won't leave you in the dark

The best thing about this meter: It doesn't have a backlit button. The light will remain on until the meter turns off (15 minutes). I have multiple meters and often work in dark places with just two hands to hold the meter, two probes and probably some parts of the circuit I'm trying to probe. How should I press the backlight button to see the screen in the dark? Of course, you could imagine turning on the backlight before anything else. But this backlight only stays on for 15 seconds to save…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Expensive
