Very fast cable modem

Works great! Regardless of the speed you pay for with your cable provider. I've always gotten more speed than I pay for with this cable modem. Of course, first make sure that the coaxial line going into the house is fine (there is a signal), otherwise the modem will never work.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Style 90

Reliable, fast modem suitable for networking products

This is my second purchase of a modem of this model. My first device worked fine for about a year and a half and then started dropping the internet connection many times a day. The unit came with a Square Trade extended warranty, so I made arrangements to send it back for repair. The unit was beyond repair and I received a check for the original cost of the modem. The new modem is working properly so far.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Has defects

Puma chipset good for networking products

I wish I had done more research on this modem. The CM700 uses the Puma chipset and has a known dropout issue. Just google. Of course I experienced it as soon as I set up this modem with xfinity. This will likely happen once or twice an hour and will take 30-60 seconds to reconnect to the internet. This is not acceptable for online gaming or video streaming. Now that this modem was working, it was great. I have a higher network speed than advertised. But I will have to return it and look at…

Fantastic modem for medium cable rates up to 350GB

I really liked this modem. I have a 250GB plan through Xfinity with digital HD TV. My computer is really a flash now. I used to have a 150GB plan and now I'm getting over 300GB on the speedometer. I've used a Zoom modem that worked fine at lower speeds, but this new one with a better plan is amazing. Of course, the cable costs a little more, but it's worth it. Great modem at a reasonable price. It pays for itself in about 7 months of rent savings. I also saved money by going for a refurbished…

Setup is easy! â Modems

This cable modem works great! I rented a modem from my ISP for $10/month and decided to buy my own. I hesitated for months, but only because the process of using my own modem was tedious a few years ago, with multiple visits to my ISP's shop to get the device working. However, not with this device. Installation was straightforward and all the cumbersome installation I've encountered before was absent. All I had to do was plug in a few cables and the device opened my web browser to a simple…

GTA 5 is fast, that's it.

First of all, 2 days ago this refurbished device was working fine, suddenly everyone in the house said they lost the connection, I checked and this thing lost the internet connection, I have the modem checked and the circle light was off, then blinked, then turned on and has been working with no problems ever since. My only concern is that this is an update and it has lost the signal which I bought the Amazon guarantee for. As we know the worst game to stream is GTA 5. I had problems with my…

Strongly NOT recommend

A modem that should support up to 300Mbps has not exceeded 100. I contacted the provider several times, they ran so many tests and narrowed it down to a modem. I then called Netgear support and they also ran a bunch of tests, mostly the same ones, and finally agreed it was their modem. They were going to send a replacement and then I would send mine back but I had to pay shipping (mind you it was defective from day one and I only had it 2 weeks at the time). A few weeks after not receiving a…
