There's good news and bad news here - mostly good

The second modem I received from Revain was installed and working very well. Three years ago I decided to stop paying rent to Comcast and bought my own modem: Arris tg862g. This was also purchased from Revain and has worked brilliantly for three years (although it appears to be out of service now). I decided to buy a new, faster modem to upgrade my system and came across this one. I no longer have to pay cable modem rental!

It's time to shorten my Time Warner Cable account. So I got this puppy. Yes, it's cheap, but this little kid packs a punch. I pay for the Extreme package through Time Warner. I averaged 80 megabytes. The modem is excellent but there was a task to set it up

I had a hell of a time setting it up. First I downloaded the user manual before doing anything. (Netgear doesn't include it, but I'm fine with that.) There's also a quick start guide. I opted for a more detailed instruction manual, which was a mistake. The user guide tells you to go to your ISP's website (they have a chart of all the major ISPs) to activate the modem once you've got everything connected. Fastest install ever on the Spectrum!

Fits my 3 tier TV stand just right but looks great and the modem has a lot of heat dissipation holes. It gets a little warm up there. It was connected to the network for about 45 minutes so I don't see this as a problem.
