Finally HD streaming!

I was 100% skeptical when I ordered this item as I have used countless network streamers, bridges, adapters, etc HD streaming. TIL TODAY. This product worked! I'm just really happy about it. The only criticism is the installation instructions, which are really grim. Here's how I recommend setting it up for DSL: 1) Plug the powerline adapter (white block) and block jumper into a wall outlet (DO NOT POWER OFF - when I tried the splitter, the utility didn't recognize the device). )2) Connect both…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Works very well but is not a huge upgrade over the AV 200 range.

I live in a two storey house that was built in 2005 and was purchased in 2009 by the original owners. You would think that was stupid#$@! Those who built my unit would have built Cat5 cables into the walls as standard early 21st century equipment, but they would have been wrong. After moving in, I bought some great Netgear AV-200 powerline products so I could use standard electrical wires in my walls to transmit information. I had a dual-band wireless router upstairs and I ran the cable to an…

Works great!

I was very skeptical about this device and not running network cables throughout my home, but I decided to give it a try. Obviously, physical Ethernet cables have the best speeds, but living in an apartment isn't the same as having your own home where you can drill holes and run cables however you like! Rschunimagu. The NETGEAR Powerline 500Mbps 4-Port Network Adapter Kit works very well, is easy to install, and is a great replacement! I can now stream Full HD movies through my WD TV Live Media

Pros
  • An absolute legend

3Mbps to 57Mbps - Too easy to be true

I have Xfinity Blast 50Mbps Internet to my house - the coaxial entrance to the house was in the back room, and here it was installed the modem. My main TV/DVR and BlueRay with Netflix were in the main room of the house about 50 feet from the wifi router. When I tried to stream videos from Netflix or Revain, it kept stopping to reload the video. I ran some speed tests and only got about 3Mbps from the wireless signal. I installed the Powerline AV 500 in less than 10 minutes. I connected the main

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Not trendy

I bought a smart TV and other internet enabled components for our living room. Like others, I've found that the most convenient viewing location isn't very suitable for internal Wi-Fi. I either waited forever for access or encountered long pauses in promoting sites. I've seen a lot of people have had success with this powerline product and thought it was worth a try. After the installation, which took about 15 minutes, I was able to get started. The XAV5001 plugs into a power outlet and the…

I solved my wifi problem at home

I didn't install my xavb5004 to scatter multimedia devices but mainly to solve problems I had since I moved my home office. Our broadband internet connection is in the living room at the front of the house and my study is at the back. After moving my computer I was only able to receive 1 band on my wireless connection and trying to copy files to storage devices on my network was unsuccessful. After installing the 5001 in my living room and connecting it to the same router as the cable modem…

Great way to expand your network

I'm an IT professional and I manage a large network for a living. I was very skeptical about this product as I had no experience with the powerline solution. I used to use matching wireless routers with a wireless bridge in between. I would use this connection between my main internet connection and the switch in my living room for an MP3 server, Xbox 360 and Squeezebox (music player). Copying files was cumbersome and slow, but it worked. Every month I had to reboot my wireless routers to fix…
