CANNOT support WPA2 in bridged mode.

We bought this device to connect our LAN between two buildings. But it can't support bridging in WPA2 mode. The manual claims WPA2 (which it can) and bridge mode (which it can), but it can't run BOTH at the same time.

Works properly for networking products

This product is working properly. I'm running a Linux server through my cable modem. I've tried several consumer-priced wireless routers, but all (3 of them!) had freezing or slowness issues. Now I have a blue box solution from Netgear - a wired FR114P router with a WG102 wireless access point connected to it. I also have a Netgear GS108 Gigabit Switch. They are all connected to my Motorola SB5100 cable modem. No hang ups and my server is working great (I handle email and internet for someโ€ฆ

Works exactly as described

After reading some reviews in magazines and websites I decided to give it a try (mainly because of the great reviews it has for the range). I bought three of these and installed them to connect our wired network from the main church to the MC building and the third WG102 was connected to the other end of the bridge and acted as an access point in the MC building for customers. I was very happy with the results, but as a disclaimer I have to point out that it didn't turn out MUCH good. The bigโ€ฆ

Works well and does a lot better than many WAPs I've seen.

I decided to try this model because I'm disgusted with other brands' access points, mainly because they either don't support multiple simultaneous wireless connections or don't assign new IP addresses (via DHCP) to wireless devices, until access is requested I am rebooting or rebooting the access point. Finally, this Netgear WG102 WAP works well and never stops connecting to a Wi-Fi device that requests access. Also, I never realized that each access point can support multiple SSIDs withโ€ฆ

Works great - once properly configured

This unit works great but it took me 3 days to figure out how to set it up. Netgear support was no help although they replied to my email which was just misread so their reply wasn't helpful. The problem turned out to be that the laptop required a Verizon DNS server address. Netgear's guide doesn't give you the faintest idea; how to configure the device with its address. I recommend the device for experienced technicians. I've only been involved with computers and networks for 40 years - whatโ€ฆ

Pretty easy to use, range could be better

Set up was easy thanks to excellent instructions. However, I must warn you that you must follow the instructions. The default subnet is weird (it's configured for 192.168.0.229 - wouldn't 192.168.1.xxx be more like what someone is already using?). Once you've switched the default IP to your subnet, it's very simple. Maybe a little more powerful or with a directional antenna. Passing through some normal house walls the signal strength drops noticeably after 40 feet (still very useful, but not at

Does what it should without any problems

I have had previous experience with the Netgear small business product line and it has been an overall good experience. This particular access point is no different. I use it in a small office so employees with laptops and smartphones can connect to our network. I've been using it on 802.11b with WPA2-PSK for a few months and haven't noticed any problems. Set and forget.
