I didn't expect the quality to be so high.

Its pros: The monolith covered 120 squares confidently. Kinetic Giga 3 barely punched through the wall. With its cons: Many applications and also a web interface and different settings everywhere. Could do full functionality everywhere.

Awesome Home Network Update

I was becoming more and more frustrated with the performance of my AT&T 2Wire home gateway. The router had poor WiFi coverage and was slow, so I decided to take a chance with the Orbi after researching a few mesh systems. I have a 2000 SF 2 story house and chose an RBK 30. The AT&T gateway is at one end of the house with an ethernet connection to a switch upstairs and an additional second modem downstairs at the opposite end of the house. I replaced the upstairs switch with an Orbi router…

Installation by a layman in 10 minutes

I'm not just giving 5 stars because I have WiFi on my 2,900 square meters. ft, not to mention I can sit outside on the patio and work too, but on the best of days I have tech issues and I got this up and running at my house in about 10 minutes. I have an Xfinity router at home and use the Netgear Extender which was great but didn't reach the top and as you moved around the house you switched networks which sometimes caused problems with my Fire tablet. Also, I couldn't sit outside. I installed…

Part of a useless headache with no support or warranty!

This review is written after less than 18 months of use. I'll be 67 soon and my router has never been disconnected. This router decided to stop connecting to the internet while streaming. I had to reboot many times while using it. If the ISP came and rewired the connections because they wouldn't connect. The network configuration has been saved, but it does not connect to the Internet or to its own satellite (repeater) that comes with the kit. Tech support won't help unless I pay them $49.99…

If it doesn't install automatically, good luck

Netgear has terrible customer service. They recommend you use their app to set up your router. But if the application doesn't work successfully, it's just a dead end. They don't offer the option to contact customer service as that's the last thing they expect from you. You can go to the website and try to contact support. But they literally won't give you a phone number until you fill out all that information and confirm you bought it within the last 90 days. (By the way, if you want that…

Repeated notorious magenta light, stopped working for more than a day

The first product received stopped working during the day - the notorious violet light kept hitting the base. The internet just shuts down completely unless you disconnect for at least 10 minutes and restart (several times). It took several reboots a day before it continued to work. Returned, received a replacement in such a worn and shabby box, clearly used and also returned by someone who put everything back in the box with no worries. It's clear that others have similar problems and are…

Doesn't work as promised, terrible support

We had high hopes for this router. I've owned several Netgear routers and modems, both at home and at work, and have found their products to be exceptional. The Orbi didn't perform as promised, and actually delivered less coverage and slower, intermittent speeds than the three-year-old Comcast device it replaced. Poor performance persisted despite 2 sessions with Netgear support. What's even worse is Netgear's response. We asked to replace the Orbi with another equivalent router. Her answer was

Outstanding performance / disappointing setup

The Netgear Orbi has already received many reviews, so pay attention to what reviewers often say. I'm fairly knowledgeable about electronics and have set up and changed my home network several times over the years. The technology involved is quite complex, but I think if companies could spend more time making the setup hassle-free, it would be much better for the end user. A few things to look out for when testing your internet speed and I suggest doing this. Before you install a Wi-Fi system…
