Excellent in binoculars and scopes

The optics are amazingly clear. The low-light performance convinced me. I am very satisfied with all aspects of this Nikon scope.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Almost never

Excellent image quality

We are very happy with this scope. We use it to spot birds and wildlife and the image quality is excellent, it focuses quickly and focus stays fairly sharp even at 20x-60x magnification.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Available in white only

Excellent fit and finish

I bought this scope for bird watching. I used an old and very orange Celestron C90 with a 45 degree birding prism. Nikon's image is brighter, sharper and lacks the annoying secondary mirror blur. The Nikon is also built like a tank but without the annoying weight. I can't imagine I ever thought I would need an upgrade.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Like this scope: Binoculars

Love this scope. Outstanding optics. Very clear and very bright. I like the tilting eyepiece and the zoom. I need to find a way to get the crosshairs in the right spot. Example: I spot a hawk sitting on a rock on a hill with binoculars and I would like to get a better/closer look at it with the scope, but I might get frustrated when trying to find the hawk with the scope. I (mainly a bird watcher) am very happy with this purchase/investment.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Doubtful senior purchase

another good scope Nikon

I used to have a Nikon ED-82 spotting scope, the previous model and this is an evolution of that excellent scope. Image quality is the same or better, but the main improvement is that the eyepiece is much better (and larger) than the zoom that came with the ED82. It's a lighter look and doesn't have the tunnel vision of the older model. Compared to other good scopes from Swarovski, Kowa etc. this scope is generally cheaper than them but still excellent. Nikon also has an excellent warranty and…

Jovian stripes are visible

I upgraded an old Bushnell that I've had for years so I was expecting a big leap in quality from this one. Compared to him, it looks like a scientific instrument. Everything is smooth and solid and the ED glass makes it possible to read text at extreme distances where my previous scope could never get sharp edges. When looking at branches with a light background, the color fringes are not noticeable. The stars don't look like a red-green pair. I wasn't able to compare this pair to other top…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Negative impression
