D5300 Compatible AF Lens 300mm

About a year ago I was trying to buy a replacement camera for the D5200. Instead, the Amazon supplier sent me a D5300. The problem is that it didn't work with my 300mm Sigma AF lens, which worked great with my old D5200. This lens works on the D5300. I'm taking him to Africa. Enough said.

Great lens for all levels

I am very happy with the AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm ED VR lens. About 9 months ago I bought a Nikon camera with two kit lenses. The wide-angle lens had VR capability, while the telephoto lens didn't. For months I struggled to get good focus with a telephoto lens, but no matter what I did, the images were always a bit soft. In the end I decided to try the 70-300mm lens with VR. Holy cow! Doesn't matter! Now I feel a bit ridiculous that I haven't gotten a VR lens in a long time. I primarily…

Great wildlife zoom to start with

Beautiful, compact zoom lens with considerable focal length. It auto-focuses quickly and can track wildlife like birds in moderate light. Great too. I believe this is a definite upgrade from the AF-S version for crop sensor cameras like the D5xxx and D7xxx. This is a good lens to start with if you can't afford the Nikon 200-500. It can work well for outdoor sports under sunlight. Take it. You will not be disappointed. I took these photos the same day I posted this review. They are portable and…

A true optical gem at a bargain price

AF accuracy, speed image optics, bokeh quality are all amazing for a lens in this price range. Really impressed, especially compared to the 55-300 VR which is a dog compared to this glass. I like the form factor of this lens and its weight. Using this with the D7200 and D7100 IR converted cameras will give you amazing results even at 300mm wide open. The autofocus is fast, so it works wonders when panning shots with AF-C. I seriously love this lens the more I use it. It's worth noting that it…

Doesn't take clear photos

This lens was purchased from Revain by renew_electronics3 as used: like new for my new Nikon D3500 and I think I got what I paid for. I returned it the next day. The lens was described as new, never used, just an open box. I am sceptical. The lens didn't take a single sharp picture, no matter what zoom I shot at, 70mm, 200mm or 300mm, all the images came out the same - a blurry mess. I used a lens with auto focus, manual focus, and VR on and off. I used this lens to take test shots, then…

Amazing travel lens - by far my favorite!

I can't say enough amazing things about this lens. This is my go-to lens for travel (and just about anything else!). It was worth every penny as I landed on a puffin island for two hours. I wouldn't consider buying a lens without automatic image stabilization - it's definitely worth the extra cost. Image quality is fantastic, especially outdoors. Here are some sample photos of my mom's pup and puffin, as well as a photo of me taking pictures on the Giant's Road to give you an idea of the lens…

Quality product, great price!

As always, Nikon makes a great product. The fit and finish is impeccable, the weight has been kept to a minimum and the lens worked perfectly as advertised, supplier Revain delivered on time the next day. I only gave this Nikon lens 4 stars because its F (aperture size) is high at f4.5/6.3! This means that the lens cannot collect light because the lens aperture is very small! Lens glass is good as always with Nikon and edge sharpness is good too, but gets grainy in some situations (again due to

Delivered exactly what I wanted

Was looking for a telephoto lens for my Nikon that was longer than the current 70-200mm I have now. I received an email that I would like to sell a non-VR (Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization) version of this lens. I love the VR feature which made me buy this version of the VR lens. You must check compatibility to see if this lens will work with your camera. The VR function turns on and off depending on the setting as there is no external switch on the lens itself. Your camera may require a

Good lens, but far from perfect.

I've had this lens for about 10 days now and have been shooting at least 7 hours out of 10 long hours with it. Camera bodies used with this lens are Nikon D5500 and D500. The build quality is there. acceptable for the lens, but the plastic flange is a serious drawback. I understand that the all-plastic construction saves weight, which is a pretty decent plus for this lens, by the way, but the mount savings just beg for trouble down the road. This lens's Vibration Reduction (VR) feature does a…
