I got it in the US and gifted it to my daughter in India. She can't just go to the store, and returning it by post is too complicated and expensive. So when it jammed on the first try (the message reading the lens said Lens Jammed or something), we turned to Nikon for help. Your suggestion didn't work. Now it's a nice piece of plastic, glass, and some metal, and it's never been photographed. A piece of junk with no customer service to speak of.

So the picture quality is not bad but not great, even with flash there is still a lot of noise and blur in the photos. The flash setting is unstable, if you have an auto flash it really only flashes 40% of the time you want it to and even in semi-dark situations it sometimes won't fire and won't fire which is frustrating.
